Structural Dominance

Typography C, Project 1: Structural Dominance, focusing on Visual Balance and Typographic Grid. 

First, I had to take 300 photos around Cal State Fullertons campus. Through Adobe Photoshop, I converted each image to grayscale, and then to a duotone. The theme I chose was Patterns, which included man made patterns on the buildings, and natural patterns in the plant life around campus. After I chose my top 5 images, I worked in Adobe InDesign to create my 5 page layout: Headline dominant, Image dominant, Headline-image dominant, Text dominant, and All three elements equal.
